Luminar is an Australian-based SAP Extended Warehouse Management consultancy. We refuse work outside the niche, we send senior consultants on every engagement, and we measure ourselves on the warehouse outcome, not the slide deck. The rest of this page is the point of view that follows from that.

User focused, not system focused
In SAP EWM we believe the gap between a successful and a failed rollout does not come from a list of artefacts. It comes from operational experience, and from an in-depth understanding of how the EWM and SCM modules interact with the way the end user actually works.
User confidence comes from ease of use and predictability. Large integrators leading large-scale EWM rollouts routinely forget that for every system action there is a physical movement on the warehouse floor, and that is where labour cost, complexity and disconnect compound. Every additional scan, every additional step, every screen that does not match the way the operator actually thinks adds drag that the P&L wears forever.
Our job is to design and defend a rollout where the system and the floor agree on what is happening, where standard SAP EWM is carrying the load, and where the operator finishes a shift more confident, not less.
The lens we bring to every engagement
Process control expects operators to rigidly follow sequential steps. Unpack, Quality Inspection, Putaway, in that order, with every handling unit behaving the way the template predicts. Nothing skipped. Nothing combined.
Operators combine steps to save time. They skip exceptions on stock they are confident about. They meet unexpected handling units that disrupt the flow. They are, in nearly every case, doing the right thing by the operation.
The validating move is to design the RF flow and the exception path against the reality the operator actually encounters. Intuitive exception handling. RF screens that respect human intuition. Overly complex setups result in workers abandoning the system, and an abandoned system is far more expensive than a flexible one.
On every engagement, we shadow operators before we touch the configuration. We document where Reality is already diverging from System, and we make a deliberate call on whether the System should bend or the Reality should be retrained. There is no template answer to that question; it depends on the operation, the product, and the risk being managed.
Against the timeline-at-all-costs pattern
The consensus. Most rollouts run a strict timeline and force operations to change without being properly set up and enabled to do so. The timeline becomes the reporting metric and the readiness becomes the line item that gets compressed.
Our view. Blindly progressing through EWM phases weakens stakeholder knowledge absorption, reduces solution quality, and increases the risk of misalignment and project gaps. Outcome focused customers achieve greater value from SAP EWM by turning supply chain execution into measurable operational performance, not by hitting a date.
What we do differently. We will defend a readiness gap in a steering committee. We will recommend a deliberate hold on a go-live week where the cost of going early is higher than the cost of moving the date. We will pick the boring fix that compounds over the slick one that looks good in the deck.
The five refusals below are how we hold the practice together. Every one of them is a deal we have said no to in the last twelve months.
Not S/4 Finance. Not SuccessFactors. Not Ariba. We will introduce you to a partner who lives in that practice instead.
We sit underneath the lead programme on the EWM stream, where we can defend the warehouse outcome.
Every consultant on your engagement is Australian-based and on your time zone. No overnight handoffs, no 9am-Frankfurt hypercare gaps.
Every engagement is led by a senior practitioner who has run the rollout before. No graduate analysts being trained at your cost.
If your problem is outside our practice we will say so on the first call. We refer at least one prospect a week to firms better suited to the work.
More than 15 years delivering SAP WM and SAP EWM programmes, specialising in EWM strategy, solution architecture and international template rollouts across the APAC region. Johan bridges the gap between global template design teams and local warehouse operations, so standard solutions are deployed while remaining operationally executable. Local conduit for the Knauf Pinkenba GWMS rollout, and currently supporting Miele's global supply chain transformation programme, where every SAP process has to reflect a real physical movement on the floor.
The Floor Audit is the cleanest way to put a senior EWM voice inside your operation without a project. Complimentary, no proposal attached.
